From now forward, I plan to do my personal blogging over at a new blog. I’ll cross post all political posts over to here.
Quick one.
August 1, 2008Well, I’ve been not blogging much recently. Tuesday was my RPI visit, and Wednesday, my internet service was down in the morning, and in the afternoon, I was getting my drivers pre-licensing certification. Ugh. I think I have some strong thoughts on getting drivers’ licenses in New York state.
I’ve been working on various puzzles from my family’s collection of jigsaw puzzles. There is nothing quite like a good jigsaw puzzle. The way I approached the most recent puzzle was to: 1. sort pieces into color groups, and put edge pieces to the side, 2. assemble the border, 3. build clumps from color groups, 4. install clumps into area of puzzle. This has worked very well mainly because this puzzle has large color groups (ie many pieces of a certain color), making the sorting process an obvious way to work.
Also, the new delicious is here. I think it is awesome. Still waiting for the new iGoogle.
Drive Through the Midwest
June 6, 2008I got home from my epic drive through the Midwest of America on Wednesday night. The purpose of the trip was to move my Grandmother (on Dad’s side) from Des Moines, Iowa to San Antonio, Texas. We used I35.
We drove through beautiful parts of the country, and I have pictures. I think I will post those pictures both here and on my facebook. I twittered the journey (using my fancy little cell phone: thank you Dad!). Check it out.
Anyway, besides leaving my bag at a Days Inn hotel in Wichita, Kansas, it was a successful, if exhausting, journey. Dad will claim that he drove at the speed limit the entire time, even though we made the 1000 mile journey in about 14 hours of road time.
I looked at University of Texas at the Texas end of the journey. It is a huge place, but it is a good looking, clean campus. I will apply and I think it would be a good place for me.
Done with classes, exams, schoolwork.
May 31, 2008Finally; what a relief. Now I get to do more interesting things this summer: internships, freelance jobs, etc. Technical work primarily. My last piece of work was an essay on libertarianism and Ron Paul; about 7 pages, not bad. Anyway, I also have to visit colleges and work on applications this summer, along with the various work I do this summer (more on that later). I’m going to try updating more often this summer.
Quick update
May 17, 2008Well, I am a bit tired, and so I don’t have anything substantial to say. Instead, here are some random things.
